Riftbound: League of Legends Trading Card Game comienza 2027 con una expansión especialmente importante. Riftbound Set 6: Legacy se lanzará el 29 de enero de 2027 y pretende seguir desarrollando el juego en varios aspectos: con un mayor enfoque en el Draft, una estructura de sobres modificada, textos de cartas revisados y campeones que encarnan el espíritu de sus regiones de Runaterra.

Legacy lleva por lema Bear the Banner. Forge Your Legacy. El eje central es la conexión entre un campeón y la región a la que representa. Demacia, Noxus, Ionia, Piltover y Zhaun, el Freljord y Aguas Estancadas estarán presentes en todo el set mediante campeones, mecánicas y estilos de juego.

¿Qué es Riftbound Set 6: Legacy?

Riftbound: Legacy es el sexto set principal del juego de cartas coleccionables de League of Legends. En lugar de centrarse únicamente en un acontecimiento concreto o en un grupo reducido de campeones, la expansión sitúa varias grandes regiones de Runaterra en el centro de atención.

Al revelar su propia Legend, en el futuro debería quedar aún más claro qué región y qué idea de juego representa un Mazo. Riot ha confirmado que Demacia, Noxus, Ionia, Piltover y Zhaun, el Freljord y Aguas Estancadas desempeñarán un papel importante en las cartas y mecánicas del set.

Lanzamiento y Pre-Rift de Riftbound Legacy

El Lanzamiento oficial de Riftbound Set 6: Legacy será el 29 de enero de 2027. Los eventos Pre-Rift tendrán lugar del 22 al 28 de enero de 2027.

Estos campeones están confirmados para Riftbound Legacy

Hasta ahora se han anunciado oficialmente ocho nuevas Legends para el set 6:

• Ashe
• Garen
• Heimerdinger
• Illaoi
• Karma
• Lux
• Tryndamere
• Vladimir

Se añadirán otras cuatro Legends, aunque todavía no se han revelado. La selección ya muestra bien la amplitud de Legacy. Ashe y Tryndamere representan Freljord, Garen y Lux Demacia, Vladimir Noxus, Karma Jonia, Heimerdinger Piltover y Zaun, e Illaoi Aguas Estancadas.

Las primeras previsualizaciones importantes de cartas se han anunciado en el marco del Convergence Fest de diciembre de 2026. Está previsto que haya más revelaciones en enero de 2027.

Nueva estructura de Sobres a partir de Riftbound Legacy

Con Legacy, Riot cambia la composición de los Sobres de Riftbound. A partir del set 6, uno de los espacios de cartas Común existentes será sustituido por un espacio propio para una Legend o un Battlefield. En este nuevo espacio habrá aproximadamente una Legend la mitad de las veces y un Battlefield la otra mitad.

Por ello, los Sobres de Legacy contendrán en el futuro seis cartas Común en lugar de siete. Legends seguirán estando bien disponibles, pero ya no ocuparán uno de los espacios en los que los jugadores normalmente esperan encontrar cartas más raras.

Las versiones Showcase de Legends y Battlefields podrán seguir apareciendo en los Overnumbered-Slots previstos para ello. Por tanto, el cambio afecta sobre todo a la estructura normal de los Sobres y pretende hacer que abrirlos resulte más atractivo.

Legacy se desarrolla específicamente para Draft

Riftbound ya podía jugarse en formato Draft con sets anteriores. Sin embargo, según Riot, Legacy es la primera expansión desarrollada desde el principio especialmente para este formato.

Esto incluye mecánicas y sinergias entre campeones que comparten un color. Además, habrá las llamadas cartas Signpost en niveles de rareza inferiores. Estas cartas mostrarán con mayor claridad durante un Draft qué combinaciones de colores y estrategias reciben apoyo.

También se ampliarán los Rune Kits para las tiendas. Una nueva carta de unidad Minion estará disponible gratuitamente, al igual que las runas, y ayudará a los jugadores de Draft a construir un Mazo completo si todavía les faltan unidades después del Draft.

Textos de cartas revisados a partir del set 6

Legacy brings not only new cards, but also changes to how rules text is displayed. Targets should be easier to identify in the future through their own gray background. For triggered abilities, an arrow more clearly separates the condition from the actual effect.

Some terms will also be standardized. When an effect creates a token, the clearer word Create will be used in the future. Phrases such as “When you play me” will be replaced with “When I enter.”

These adjustments do not change the basic gameplay, but they should reduce misunderstandings and make Riftbound easier to read.

League Classic Artworks in Riftbound Legacy

A crossover with League Classic has also been announced for collectors. Legacy is set to include cards with artwork inspired by the look of League of Legends' early years.

It has not yet been announced how many cards will receive this treatment or in which rarities they will appear. The combination of modern Riftbound cards and classic League aesthetics is likely to be particularly interesting for longtime fans.

Which products are being released for Riftbound Legacy?

The following products have been announced for Riftbound Set 6 so far:

The four Champion Decks offer direct entry points centered around Tryndamere, Ashe, Lux, and Garen. Booster Packs and Displays are aimed at collectors, deck builders, and draft groups. The Vault Bundle is likely to be another bundled product for fans and collectors, but its exact contents have not yet been revealed.

There are currently no specific details about the contents of the Pre-Rift Kits either. Further product details are likely to follow closer to the start of the preview season.

Proving Grounds, 2nd Edition follows in February 2027

Following the Release of Legacy, Riftbound: Proving Grounds, 2nd Edition will also be released on February 19, 2027. The new starter box contains four Champion Decks featuring Heimerdinger, Karma, Vladimir, and Illaoi.

The contents include four Champion Decks, four oversized Battlefields, four paper playmats, four Chibi score counters, and a rulebook. The box is not expected to contain exclusive playing cards. All included cards should also be available in regular booster packs.

Offiziell bestätigt sind Versionen auf Inglés, Chino, Francés und Coreano. Eine deutsche Ausgabe wurde bisher nicht angekündigt.
